We're Heading for a Change
Time to Step Up
For those of you who don’t know (even though it was brought up in the last eVoter), the League is preparing for a change of leadership. Under the direction of Elizabeth Darr, the Nominating Committee is preparing a slate of nominees for the positions of President, Secretary, and two board members. Members of the nominating committee will be reaching out to some of you. Please consider this an honor that your commitment to the League is being recognized and give serious thought to serving in a new capacity. The League cannot survive without new ideas, new energy, and new commitments from you.
Take care and stay safe.

Data Drivers Front and Center
Calling All Volunteers: Help Shape the Future of Data Management for LWVKC! Are you passionate about data and making a difference? LWVKC is forming a Data Management Needs Assessment Committee, and we need dedicated volunteers to help us create a stronger foundation for our mission!
Why This Matters: Data helps us tell our story, support our programs, and reach more people in need. However, as our nonprofit grows, so does the complexity of managing our data. This committee will play a vital role in evaluating our current systems and identifying ways to better organize, protect, and use our data to make an even greater impact.
What You’ll Do As a Committee Member: You will collaborate with fellow volunteers to review how we collect, store, and use data, identify challenges and opportunities to improve data management processes, contribute to solutions that will strengthen the foundation of our nonprofit’s work, and shape strategies and policies that help us fulfill our mission more effectively.
Who Should Join? We’re looking for volunteers who are excited about making a difference and improving how we work.
Do you have experience with, or interest in, data, technology, or nonprofit operations? Are detail-oriented, organized, and willing to share your insights? You're just right for us.
What’s the Time Commitment? The committee will meet bi-weekly for the next three to four months, beginning in March. Meetings will be virtual, and any additional tasks will be flexible to fit your schedule.
How to Get Involved: This is a unique opportunity to help LWVKC grow and thrive. Together, we can ensure that data becomes a powerful tool to drive our mission forward.
We can’t wait to hear from you! Janelle Sjue vicepresident@lwvkc.org

eVoter Editor Needed
As I reported in our last eVoter, I am leaving my position to a fresher voice to represent the League. We are looking for someone who enjoys spreading the word about the good work of the League,
The public edition of the eVoter is published on the Tuesday before the scheduled Saturday monthly meeting. The members-only edition is published two weeks later. Each edition requires approximately five hours to produce. Templates for each edition are saved in the email system used by the League.
Additional duties include managing the eVoter committee with meetings to be held quarterly by Zoom. Also, meeting notices are sent the day before the monthly meeting.
Those interested in this position should contact Jim Calvert here!
| A Call to Action
Persistently Polite
Many of us struggle to deal with our new political climate that seems to long for days of yore, both here and abroad. So many people express anger at one side or the other that discussion seems impossible. But, discussion is the way out of our current environment of hate and discontent, particularly with those who work in our elected officials’ offices.

Persistently polite conversations are the only way to convince those around us that our beliefs and values are driving our commitment to our democracy. It is the only way to stand a chance against those driven purely by money in our political environment.
Take care and stay safe.
