National Issue
The Federal Judiciary

Thanks to reporting from national news organizations exercising their First Amendment responsibilities to keep our government officials accountable to the people, questions have been raised about the conflicts of interest some on the Supreme Court appear to be involved in. The League of Women Voters U.S. has formed a committee to study ethics issues and standards of the federal judiciary.
The committee will produce a report that will be shared with local Leagues. Included in that report will likely be a recommendation for a position to be voted on at the national convention to be held in Fredericksburg, VA June 13 - 15, 2025. The complete list of LWVUS positions may be found here!

Take care and stay safe.

A Call to Action
Who Are You?

Our organization relies entirely on volunteers. This means each of you joined for a reason, and the League’s leadership has been working to improve their understanding of what motivates people to step up for their community. Of course, each of you is an individual with unique reasons for your involvement, but there are some common elements that are important to understand.

If you are married, see if your spouse will volunteer. If you have colleagues complaining around the water cooler, give them an outlet for their emotions. If your friends can’t believe what’s happening, steer them towards our organization. Every volunteer hour helps.

Take care and stay safe.
